Sample Letters (simply copy one into your message)

Sample Letter 1:

Camp Ashraf residents have been persecuted in Iraq because they oppose the Iranian Mullahs. They are committed to a secular, democratic and non-nuclear Iran. They are extremely important to Iran’s future. They are a group of 3400 who are now in danger of being obliterated by the Iraqi Army.

The Iranian regime obviously wants the people in Camp Ashraf eliminated. As a result, the Iraqis have been cracking down on them, and we are in a difficult position to do something about it. Frankly, the FTO list has been a licence to kill these people, because the designation is the rational that the Iraqi government uses to wind on the two assaults in the 2009 and 2011.

We promised them — the US government promised them — that we would protect them. Yet, in spite of our promise, in 2009 and 2011, Iraqi forces using equipments, vehicles, weapons, and unfortunately training from the U.S. have invaded the camp, killed 36 people, and wounded 300 others. It is naive and morally bankrupt for us to think that we can continue to negotiate with the 3400 lives at stake. We are fearful that there will be an assault by the end of December due an illegal deadline set by Maliki government. We have to get Blue Helmets from the United Nations to Camp Ashraf to protect its residents. We have to live up to our promise. Our creditability is at stake here.

We therefore ask you, Mr. President, to:

Compel Nouri al-Maliki to extend his proclaimed deadline on the camp and allow the natural process of registration of the residents to take place by the UNHCR; and provide the means for the U.N. to arrange the installation of the Blue helmets needed to provide temporary protection for the U.N. teams to work in the Camp.

Sample Letter 2:

The current situation in Camp Ashraf, Iraq and the possibility of another humanitarian tragedy require the United States to take swift action.

The protection of Camp Ashraf and its 3,400 residents has been under the responsibility of Iraqi authorities since 2009. However, on April 8th, 2011, some 2,500 Iraqi forces penetrated the Camp by using violent means that lead to the killing of 36 residents and caused injury to 346 others.

Several governments including the United Kingdom, Norway as well as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, subsequently condemned the operation. Mrs. Pillay in a statement emphasized, “there must be an independent inquiry.”

Today, it is clear that a similar incident may occur at any time, especially following the Iraqi MP- Maliki’s announcement that Camp Ashraf will be closed by the end of the year at any price. A speedy relocation of residents from Camp Ashraf to other locations in Iraq, as planned by Iraqi authorities, will lead to massive bloodbath, which will be the US’ primary responsibility.

The European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Iraq has proposed a plan which has been underway by the Foreign affairs Committee but needs ample time to be effective.

Some of my friends and I have started a campaign that will not end until you, Mr. President, reassure us that, as you suggested many times during your election campaign, you side with Human Rights and those who defend it. This is a humanitarian situation what will rig the promise you had made is not fulfilled.

We therefore ask you Mr. President to:

Compel Nouri al-Maliki to extend his proclaimed deadline on the camp and allow the natural process of registration of the residents to take place by the UNHCR; and provide the means for the U.N. to arrange the installation of the Blue helmets needed to provide temporary protection for the U.N. teams to work in the Camp.

With respect to all values in our fatherland,

Sample Letter 3:

We are writing this letter to urge immediate action in regards to the situation in Camp Ashraf in northern Iraq. Camp Ashraf, which is the home of 3,400 members of the Peoples Mojahedin Organization of Iran has come under attack by Iraqi security forces, 33 individuals having been killed, over 300 injured and 16 taken away from the camp. These attacks occurred against unarmed camp members, who are protected persons under international law.

It is needless to say that the past two vicious attacks against the unarmed residents in that Camp has been shocking for all human right advocates and U.S. nationals and patriots all over the world. More shocking was to find 36 peaceful protesters in the Camp were, run-over, crushed to death or shot by U.S.-provided, U.S.-owned Humvees and guns, under the orders of Maliki.

We are also very alarmed to find the news of recent threats over the Camp Ashraf deadline for imposed closure, and no reaction on behalf of the U.S. government, and especially the President. We realize that the first and prime value of the U.S. president has always been to protect human values regardless of political outcomes, as you very well announced during the presidential elections. With the coming U.S. presidential elections, we hope to see these promises fulfilled and your respected views established.

The forcible displacement of Ashraf residents by Iraq (suggested by Maliki), is illegal, very dangerous and could lead to another killing spree. If the Iraqi government’s true intention is to evacuate Camp Ashraf residents from where they have lived for over twenty years, instead of announcing deadlines that delivers no help at all to the current situation, it would be more suitable to provide the needed measures and assistances to implement the solution presented by the European Parliament delegation.
